(She/Her/Hers)

Candice Alizio, LMFT, is the Executive Clinical Director for Forge VFR in Manchester, which provides care specifically designed to address the unique culture, preferences, and values of veterans and first responders. She earned a master’s degree from Antioch New England Graduate School and holds a License in Marriage and Family Therapy.
With extensive experience in behavioral health, Candice has served as an Emergency Services Clinician, working closely with emergency medical services (EMS), police, fire, nurses, and doctors. It was this experience that made Candice realize the need to provide increased support for those who keep us safe, day-in and day-out.
Candice has a strong background in training and program development, and brought this experience to bear in the earliest days of Forge VFR to help shape and grow the program. Today, as Executive Clinical Director, she is integral to developing and maintaining VFR's mindfulness-based stress management, trauma-informed, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse Intensive Outpatient Program.
An experienced teacher, trainer, and leader, Candice’s treatment approach is rooted in mindfulness, focused cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive processing therapy, narrative exposure therapy, and solution-focused brief treatment. She is fully certified in Critical Incident Stress Management.
Candice is part of the Southern New Hampshire Regional Crisis Intervention Stress Management and Peer-to-Peer Team, and she is proud to serve her community by providing trauma-informed mental health and substance misuse treatment to our first responders, veterans, and their families.
