A key part of the unique holistic treatment offered by Strive is our partnership with the communities in which we work. As part of this community connection, Strive Paramus will be an enthusiastic participant in New Jersey’s third annual Knock Out Opioid Abuse Day on October 6. The day has seen 10,000 or more people mobilized state-wide to hold educational events, distribute pamphlets and brochures, stage candlelight vigils, and in other ways educate about the opioid epidemic.
In New Jersey, about 2,194 people have died from drug overdoses through September, 2018, on track for a large increase over last year. Most are related to opioids like heroin and fentanyl. Public safety and emergency medical personnel have administered the resuscitation drug naloxone more than 9,000 times throughout the state. Education and prevention efforts, like Knock Out Opioid Abuse are needed more than ever.
Knock Out Opioid Abuse Day is organized by Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey.
