Strive Health of New Jersey Cosponsors Sports Injury Seminar at Englewood Health

posted in News, Events

Injuries happen in youth sports which is why it’s important for parents and students to learn how to manage pain after a serious injury. Nationally, the majority of students who are injured playing sports are treated with opioid prescription pain medication which are addictive.

To help educate the community on sports injuries and pain management, Strive Health of New Jersey, Englewood Health, Center for Addiction Recovery Education and Success (CARES), The Center for Alcohol and Drug Resources and Bergen County Prevention Coalition are holding a free seminar on managing pain medication and student athletes. Experts from the community will explain how to manage these injuries responsibly, the dangers of overdose and addiction prevention.

Additionally, a free training session will teach administration about the overdose-recovery drug Narcan, a skill that can save a life. 50 doses of Narcan will be given out free.

The event is open to all students, teachers, sports coaches and community members.
